MFSA Leadership

Board of Directors

Overall governance of the MIT Free Speech Alliance is provided by its Board of Directors. The Board is responsible for the overall strategy and policy stance of MFSA, for the organization's financial health and compliance with applicable law, and for the selection of the organization's President. Directors serve for three year terms. MSA's bylaws require that Directors be MIT graduates.

Executive Committee

The day-to-day functions of MFSA are overseen by the Executive Committee. This Committee sets specific MFSA policies and messaging. The Executive Committee is composed of the MFSA President, the Chairs of its operating committees, and the MFSA Executive Director.

Committees

The operations of MFSA are performed by the volunteer members of function-specific committees. Any MFSA member is eligible to volunteer for any committee. Each committee is headed by a Chair who provides the functional leadership and is also the most active member of the committee.

Executive Director

The Executive Director is a full-time employee of MFSA and is the primary point of contact for the organization. The Executive Director performs many of MFSA's daily operations, including organizing MFSA's conferences and debates, organizing MFSA's All Hands Meetings for members, sending member newsletters, and creating messaging content for the web site and other forums.
